Gopalganj District



Gopalganj District
Gopalganj is a district ("zila" in Bangla) in the Dhaka division ("bibhag" in Bangla) of Bangladesh. The district has about 1.1 million inhabitants and its surface area is 1,490 km². The main city of the district is also called Gopalganj.
Gopalganj is subdivided into five subdistricts (upazila/thana).
Subdivisions
1. Gopalganj Sadar Upazila
2. Kashiani Upazila
3. Kotalipara Upazila
4. Muksudpur Upazila
5. Tungipara Upazila
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the first prime minister and president of independent Bangladesh, was born in Tungipara, a village in this district.
History
Gopalganj District was established in 1984, prior to this it was a subdivision of Faridpur District.
Places of interest
Ulpur has a former Zamindar palace, which is currently used a Tehsil Office.

About Govt Titumir College.


Govt Titumir College

Govt Titumir College is an older college of Dhaka City. During Pakistan Resin its name was Jinnah college”. It is located at Mohakhali in Gulshan area. It is one of few Government colleges in Dhaka city so students rush is much here.This college starts its journey from Higher Secondary Level (H.S.C). It later developed to Degree Level. Gradually the government gave it permission to start Honours level. First Honours course started with Beangali and Chemistry.
